Wedding photos?!?!?!?!?

how much did your wedding photographer charge? were the pictures worth it? and what did he/she take pics of?? only ceremony, reception etc

My photography is costing $1200 for shooting the whole event, dvds with high res files of the images, an online gallery of proofs, box of printed out proofs, and a $200 credit toward any prints we want to have made. We're getting pics of the whole thing from getting ready to driving off at the end of the night. $1200 is cheap for my area (urban northeast) but I'm getting a deal because the photographer- who is a professional hip hop photographer that moonlights as a wedding photographer- is a friend of ours.

Photography is never cheap, but I'd say it's the one area that's really worth splurging. Because after your wedding, what will you have? A lot of memories, a white dress you'll never wear again, and a lot of photographs. So make sure those photos are good!

$1100: a leather abulm, a cd of proofs, a cd with music, half the pictures printed out, and rights to the pictures. The night of our wedding we also got a cd of the negatives and during the reception he played what he had taken so far.

Was he worth it? NO!!!!!! He was my SiL's best friend from collage and all he's capable of doing is taking good pictures of her son. Over half our wedding pictures were over exposed because he didn't know how to shoot in bright, sunny conditions. Nor did he know how to shoot in low light conditions. I had to direct EVERY pose, he spent more time shooting the sh*t with my BiL during the reception, depsite the fact I had contracted with him X amout of picture of each table of each thing. When I got the pictures back, I realised he spent far more time and pictures of my husband's family than he did mine, and there are no pictures of my husband and I that I actually like. Needless to say, I wasn't happy with his performance.

About $1,500 for service and purchase of negatives, and additional for purchasing prints. That cost was low for our area, but the photographer was a friend. He took pictures of the wedding, reception, and post-reception party (the latter as his gift to us). The photographs are beautiful and it was definitely worth every penny.

I paid $900 for amazing pictures -- was given the copyright to all photos so I didn't have to pay outrageous amounts to buy them from the photographer. He arrived 2 hours before the wedding, and stayed throughout until after all the important events at the reception.

9k, yes I got all the images and a beautiful album that will last much longer than a scrapbook, They shot everything from getting ready untill the end
