Has anyone ever used Stephanie Edwards (Knoxville, TN) for a wedding photographer?

I just looked at her site (http://www.stephedwards.com/port.htm for anyone else who wants to check it out) and I would say this photography is only passable at best. Lots of gimmicky shots and photoshop-ing here. A good photographer shouldn't have to rely on tricks (like the black and whites with the small colored areas) or photoshop (the blurred backgrounds) to make an image interesting. And if you're going to use photoshop, why wouldn't you correct the the contrast and lighting on some of these shots. Seriously, I would expect her website to feature her best work, and this stuff just isn't good. Poor compositions, poor lighting. Too many shots from the back or side of people. The camera's not really connecting with anyone. I don't really see any "wow" shots here. The best ones are the gown being laced up and the two groomsmen with their back to each other. This work is sub-par. May sound harsh, but it's your wedding, you want good shots. I wouldn't hire her.

I hired her to shoot my best friend's wedding. We were both extremely happy with the pictures and her personality. I wanted to show a friend some of the pictures so I did a search for her name and came across this. I wanted you to hear back from someone who had actually used her. Report Abuse

Are you a photographer?....in what decade? Spot coloring and depth of field are very "in" right now. Brides request it almost at every wedding I have done. Report Abuse
