Did anyone make their own wedding album?

My photographer is going to send all of my pictures to me on DVD and he is going to make an album of 4X6's of my choosing. But I want a big album, with 8X10's, 5X7's the whole thing (he won't do this but I'm getting him for a great deal, so I don't mind doing it on my own). So I will have to make this myself and have the others printed from the DVD he gave me (I'll have all the negatives). Has anyone done this? Where can I buy a pretty, nice album? I don't want the big leather-bound white one with the gold trim that everyone gets, I want a more creative, nice-looking one. Any suggestions?

I want something more fromal than a scrapbook. Maybe I just don't have as many scrapbooking skills as some, but I don't just want it to be pictures glued to pages.

Not sure how you are going to add the photos- magazine style, insert, or somehow affix on pages?

My bro and SiL did their own. They bought slim, brown leather, library-bound photo albums (2 of them, one for wedding and one for honeymoon pictures) with places to write next to the pictures. They albums are great looking and with the space to write they were able to document all the things they saw on their Grand Canyon/Arizona honeymoon. The albums were only 2pictures across but included both orientations (horizontal and vertical) so they could fit the pics. I think the albums came from a camera store like Ritz. It was a great idea and much less expensive!

Oh, please scrapbookers do it all the time. Take a look at scrapbook stores/websites for a million beautiful choices.

www.csc-photography.com, takes your pics and on his website you log in and make ur own album pages then he gets it printed.

Just make sure that the dvd he gives you have the images at a higher resolution so that you can make pictures larger than 4x6. ( some photogs really get ppl like this...they offer a dvd but with small pics and in order to get bigger pictures you have to order thru them)

You also have the option of doing a digital album. (i made digital albums for inlaws) using mypublisher. Its great. You can also buy a leather bound book. its great and you just have to upload the pics on the computer and design it yourself. its really easy to use.
