How do I handle this?

I do photography for a side business- weddings and such. I just shot a friend of a friend's wedding today. Cut him an awesome deal on a last minute wedding with a mail order bride. He did not pay me (I am usually paid prior to the start). The entire family was incredibly rude. I was pretty much hired by my friend- do I deal with him or the groom? I will not give him the photos until payment is paid in full. Thanks!

do what you said..dont give the photos until you are paid in full..you're there to do a job and if they cant respect you they should have found someone else..you should have left before you finished..so let them know that you wont give them the pictures until full payment and make sure its cash..because many people like to play games with checks..its easy to get ripped off..

Ask your friend first, if the money is getting to him first, if so then tell him to tell the groom just to deal with you.

i say ask your friend. If hes a good friend, he'll handle the rude family for you. but if you are a true business man, he will put you in contact with the person who will pay you (ie, groom or father of the bride.)

Either way, you're right to not giving up photos until you're paid. Especially if you cut em a great deal, and even more so if you cut em a great deal and they were still pricks!

don't give the photos till your paid. and whoever hired you is who you should deal with.

I support your decison of not giving the photos until you're paid. I would talk to your friend, and see if he can put you in contact with the person who will pay. I think it is so sad people were so rude after getting a great deal.

i'd go through the friend that hired you, if the friend doesn't get you the money in 2 weeks, then go after the groom.
