For all those who are married or recently engaged... help on weddin plannin!! pleaseeee =D?

I am currently a student and have recieved an assignment on planning a wedding. So for those who are married or recently engaged can you please help me with information and costs on how much your music/musicans/djs, flowers, wedding cakes, and photography was; plus the website following the costs... ? pleaseee it would be so helpful. thanks.

I think that www.theknot.com has the best information. It really depends on how much you have to spend. You can have a small wedding or a grand, mega expensive wedding.

One of my friends was trying on 3500 dollar dresses, while another bought one for 250 dollars. One can use a CD player for a DJ, or pay around 500-1000 for one.

You can make your own flower arrangements on the table. I had a friend who used the beautiful flowers from her parents' garden, or you can spend up to 10,000 dollars on flowers. I have only just decided on silk flowers as the wedding is a summer wedding, and I've learned that flowers do not last very long outdoors in high heat. I totally have no idea how much that will cost me.

The last wedding I went to, the bride had a family member take the photos for free. On average, the photographer is going to run at least 1000 dollars to 1500 dollars (which is the norm), but I know of someone who is spending 4000 on it.

I believe wedding cakes run from 250-750 in price.

The knot.com has a budget planner, that I'm using on my wedding coming soon. I'm going to try to budget the wedding for 12,000 dollars. It is hard! They have a list where you can play with the figures and it automatically subtracts the amount from your budget.

Catering depends on if you're doing an afternoon cocktail party reception, a buffet dinner, or a sit down dinner. The sit down dinner will likely cost around 5,000- 8,000 dollars, depending on how much alcohol you supply and how many guests are in attendance. Catering is expensive for sit down dinners, like 30-40 dollars a head. The buffet was a more decent price that figures to around 15-18 dollars a head, depending on the meat. Again, the alcohol is the most expensive. Kegs of beer are around 150 (I think) and the fountain of wine that we looked at was 250. An open bar is dangerous for people with family that drink...lol. We were going to buy a bottle of spirits for the wedding party and ask the guests to buy their own hard liquor, but now we're having a destination wedding.

Favors, if you do them, run 2-5 dollars per person. Invitations are around 150 dollars and upwards to 300 dollars per 50.

Anyway, hope this helps some!

look up in your telephone directory then call catarers and find out how much they cost ...and florists...

well the DJ is going to be $100, the flowers $40 i made them my self, wedidng cake $180 for 100 guest photography was going to be $300 but the guy was my photography teacher in college so it was free for me, i signed up for a free wedding website. other stuff was the wedding site $100, and the reseption place is about $80 per hour min of 3 hours. hopes this helps!

Go to www.perfectweddingguide.com. They have tons of different vendors and you can see various prices.

This site will do all that for you http://www.costofwedding.com

I live in Southern Indiana and here are the prices that I paid. Mind you, I'm planning a wedding for 70 people for under $5000. We're catering it ourselves $400. DJ nightowldjs.com-$600 Photographer-$600 Ceremony/Reception (garden ceremony with outside reception) site rental-$700. Do-it-yourself fake flowers $100. Ice Cream cakes from Dairy Queen assembled on tiers-$100.
Hope that helps.

So far....
Event venue (wedding and reception) - $200 (includes chairs, tables, etc.).
Dinner - $32/plate, 1/2 off for children under 12; + 20% gratuity for wait and venue staff.
Bar - $40 set up (regardless of open or cash).
Security guard - $20/hr each (1 guard required for every 25 guests if serving alcohol).
DJ - $500 to $1,000 (4 hours).
Flowers - $300 to $500.
Wedding cake - $500.
Bridal part gifts - Around $50/ea.
Photographer - $500 for 2 hours, $150 each additional hour. We get the proofs and a book with 50 photos and one 8x10, all other photos have to be ordered thru the photogrpaher (expensive!!).
Wedding gown - $350 to $2,500.
Bridal party gowns (my fiance and I are paying for our wedding parties clothing) - $150 to $500/ea.
Groomsmen - $100/ea.
Invititations - $550/100 including response and thank you cards.
Save the date cards - $150.
Rings - I have no idea on my engagement ring but both our wedding rings have been custom made at $1,300 ea.

We're not using a planner or a website so I can't assist on the costs there. I hope this helps! This is what we're looking at for a 2009 wedding!

An assignment? What course I would ace it??
