Free Wedding Giveaways?

So I've been engaged for more than 2 years now. We don't have any money and short of a miracle that isn't likely to change anytime soon but we want to have a real wedding and don't want to wait forever to do it. I've watched a bunch of those wedding shows on tv and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could apply for free wedding giveaways. Is there any show or something where they pay for it if you agree to certain things? We're willing to consider and do most anything. I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd check.

Ps. Please no just go to the court house or vegas answers. That's not what we want.
Pss. I've seen lots of things for sweepstakes for free dresses or photography etc but I'm looking more for the whole shabang. I already have my dress.

Hi. The only one that I know of is the one on the Today Show. They do one every summer. Have your watched those? You get no say, however, in anything (cake, dress, venue,)....everyone votes for dresses, etc. It is highly competitive to get into, and even that....you are voted on by the general public....but it's a shot! Look it up on their website.

OK....that's the long shot. The jist of it is....do you want a wedding or do you want to get married? There IS a difference. You CAN have a nice wedding on a very tiny budget. Lots of brides on here are! You don't have to have the banquet hall,
10 bridesmaids, limos, 3 carat diamond ring, etc. Is there any way for you and your fiance to even save up $500? or $1000? You CAN have a wedding on that amount....it's just going to not be the "typical" wedding. But in the end, you will still be married.

Good luck!

You need to send this to Oprah Winfrey, in chicago.

She does dream maker shows and might be interested in your story.

Hmmmmmmmm.
Cant help you Im afraid. In a perfect world it would be nice to not have to save for anything and have everything given to you for nothing. But we live in the real world, where if something is important to you, you have to save like hell to get it. And if you cant afford it, you either miss out and stay engaged forever, or marry simply and inexpensively, somewhere quiet.
Remember it is the marriage that is important, not the wedding.

A lot of times you should call local TV or radio stations.

But do you really want to get married when you don't have the money to even have a wedding, how are you going to live properly and provide a comfortably life for yourself?

SORRY, MAYBE BOTH OF YOU COULD GET EXTRA JOBS

I attended a wedding show and put my name in for a honeymoon contest. Turned out to be a complete scam. Not only did I win, but all my friends that put their names in won too. Even my mother-in-law one. You win, but you have to pay a fee first.

Wouldn't we all like to have our weddings paid for? You gotta work hard to have the things you want in life. Save, save, save and then have a wedding within your means. Don't count on some bogus sweepstakes. It's the marriage that is most important anyway, not the wedding.

Well there are loads of things you can do. You could apply to one of those reality tv shows, or if you are good looking enough work for a photographer.

However I suggest, after 2 years you have not been able to save a dime; maybe you should grow up. You could get a job, get a 2nd job, work overtime. People on this site get married for 2000 dollars, in 2 years you and your fiance have not been able to save a dime. 3000 before taxes so if you both work $7.50 an hour jobs... it would be just 400 hours TOTAL that would be 200 hours each, or 4 hours a week, for a year. Since working hard is not a choice for you, perhaps the best thing is not to get married, maybe you just need to grow up first.

I have noticed some of your other posts... you were able to get 2 tats, but still no money for the wedding. Get your priorities straight. Life isn't free... its hard.

PS even if you win one of those wedding shows, you will have to pay tax, which is usually 33% of the cost of the prize. The other thing is those wedding shows inflate the costs of everything so a 20k wedding will be about 60k on tv. Good luck at courthouse.

If you are serious then you need to check all of the channels for all of the wedding programs, apply to all that you fit what they are looking for. Read the small print to ensure they are covering you for the weddin costs. Have a look at magazines and local papers as well.

Other almost free weddings are to keep the numbers small and do a lot of the planning yourselves.

I'm in the same position you are in!! I entered a to win a honey and free wedding at afwpi.com/promo.html I hope this will help you. Good luck to both you and me.
