Need opinions and help:)?

Hi everyone!
I really enjoy posting here because i've always received positive and encouraging feedback so i hope to find the same again.
I just promoted my new website for my photography business that i just started up. I'm hoping some of you can take a look and let me now what you think. It's hard from my perspective to find mistakes or spellings errors etc so please feel free to comment on my wording and if there's anything i should add or take away. Also i have bookings already and was wondering if i need to bring any type of forms to the shoots, i'm guessing i will need release forms if i want to use a clients photos for publication on my site but i'm booked for a wedding in May and need to know how i should be prepared. I have done weddings for friends so it wasn't necessary to make them sign anything so if anyone can help with me with info on that it will be appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

Woww.... *jealous*
your portraits - you manipulated the contrast too much

your portfolio - doesn't make much sense to me

all in all your work is pretty good.
It is a very good website.
I personally would use a diffrent photo on the front page, something that everyone can relate with to pull them in. But it is a very cute picture none the less.
Well, before I even go look at your site, I can tell you that you really need to get in touch with a lawyer regarding your business. The lawyer should have a background in contract law as it applies to photography if possible.

He will need to create releases for you, set you up in some contracts, and go over private/public domain issues.

Also, you will need to contact a bookkeeper/accountant to deal with your taxes, any 1099's received, payments to models, business related tax deductions, etc....

I find it kind of odd to have actually booked a shoot, without knowing about copyright/owership issues, all the various releases required, etc... When you sign the booking contract, you should get any necessary releases completed, so that there isnt any conflict the day of the wedding.

Also, just something to think about, but what happens if your camera shutter sticks after the 3rd shot? Do you have backups in line. You dont want to get started in wedding services, and have to bail out before all those "once in a lifetime" moments are caught on film / memory card.

~~ADDENDUM~~
Well, if all your going to shjoot are family and freinds, you probably will be able to get away with minimal documentation. If your starting a company, there are things specific to ownership/copyright and contract law that you should go over with a lawyer. I hate lawyers, but they have their place. You dont want to write your own contract, and miss something that is going to cost you thousands down the road.

Other things about your website. These are just my opinions...

Your packages might be better understood if you listed one price per package, rather than a package and specific pricing per service.

I would use better photos in your samples. The colors on your nature/landscape seems to be off, and the top photo o fyour childrens page seems to be having a dark contrast problem.

Some of the photos I do like. I some of the photos seem a little distorted from resizing, I think.

I think I would change the name of your "self-portrait" to "Single Subject Portrait". Self portrait makes one think of taking their own photo.
hi, nice work.

at bottom of your top page spelling : should say "information"

I agree with some others here, a bit too much colour manipulation on a few of them. Either your pictures are intended to be lifelike or they are supposed to be arty, almost abstract. In between looks a bit odd, to me at least.

I'm not sure what the official rules are but personally I would not publish photos of children unless their parents had signed a release form. The pictures are fine, it is just that the kids can't give their assent.

to get practice photographing young women in nice clothes, book a model and a studio. She will know much more than you about lighting, clothes and poses. It is a (fairly) cheap way to learn a lot!

good luck
