Friday v Saturday wedding? |
Hi there I have read some examples on the net of people saving a lot of money by having a Friday wedding. One of the venues I am interested in has different rates, but most charge the same whatever the day. My issue is, I have heard that even things like photography, cars and flowers are cheaper on a Friday. Has anyone heard of this please? This is what I have experienced so far. The hall we wanted had a minimum for Saturday weddings and they were booked on the Saturday we wanted anyway. I wanted that hall no matter what so we decided on a Friday wedding. The only discount they offered was the cheapest package at 10% off and we had to have a chicken dinner. So the only discount we are having is that it won't be as much as a Saturday because we only have 60 guests. As far as the rest I am not sure yet because I haven't gotten that far into the planning yet. As far as the guests go, I will be sending out save the date cards 6 months prior so they have plenty of time to know about the day it is on. At least in my case, I know that no one will have a problem of taking off work early or the whole day. well i would have a friday wedding because i am always too hung over on a saturday to get out of bed If you want things that much cheaper, maybe its a lot cheaper not to get married. You might save money on the honeymoon Hotel by erecting a tent on the back lawn. And instead of a wedding reception go to Macdonalds. Saturday events might be longer and are sometimes more elaborate than Friday events which are normally just in the evenings. Saturdays are also the first choice for most couples so the rates can be increased and folks will still pay them just to have that day. Friday events can be a problem for getting guests in but other than that everything else usually can be arranged cheaper on any other day but Saturday as long as it's not near a holiday--Valentine's Day for example. Yes i found Fridays cheaper yeah i heard of something like this i think its because saturday is the weekends so people charge more yes - I got married on a Monday and saved about 20% on Saturday charges for almost everything. |
