How much did your wedding cost? |
Is $3,000 a decent buget? Church wedding, guest list 100, reception at church with cake and punch only.(3 tier cake, and cute little cup cakes decorated in the wedding colors) The things I'm willing to spend the most on is flowers and photography. Does $3,000 seem like a reasonable budget? That sounds very reasonable. Especially when there are a lot of women out there who would spend no less than $5,000 on a dress they won't wear more than one day. I went to Vegas and my wedding there was maybe $1,000. It was fun and I'd do it again. But, yes, $3,000 is doable. No sense going into a great debt before you even get married. Congrats! mines cost about 2,000 I think if you can pull it off for that amount go for it. mine only cost about 400.00, but I was married 34 years ago. Just put the most important things first. it sounds like you are already doing that. and shop around. Somethings like food and all can be made at home with the help of close friends. that was what one of my girlfriends did. and it turned out great. call around and get estimates on things you want for your wedding. make a list of things you HAVE to have and things you can compromise on. I made my own arrangements for the tables and everyone LOVED them. Saved a lot of money there. Photography is the most important thing. Make sure you see lots and lots of samples. My photography was horrible and I regret not going with the more expensive people who I knew would be great to save a little dough. I would start pricing things like the church and flowers right away also cups plates silverware reception hall dress...gifts for bridesmaids. My wedding was very inexpensive we bought our house and had the wedding here.. Oh wow, it seems like yesterday........ Dress - $6,000 Flowers - $5,500 Husband's ring - $2,500 Cake - $1875 Photography - $7,000 Bridesmaid Dresses - $275.00 x 7=$1925 Reception Hall & Food - $35,000 The memory of that day............PRICELESS! There are other things to consider too. Favors, gifts for your new husband and the wedding party and the parents, limousines, hair appointments, nail appointments. But it really depends on if you want a simple wedding or a lavish wedding. If you are saying $3,000 as a buget for the whole wedding, I would say, it could work if you are looking to have a simple but very nice wedding. Married September 13, 2003 |
