What type of careers are out there dealing with photography? |
I know about freelance work and wedding photography as well as industry and commercial photography but I don't know anything about photojournalism and how it all works so I need help with what careers are out there. Journalism, artist, forensics, portrait photography, war correspondent photographer, microbiology, clinical pharmacology, freelance photographer, and on and on . . .check with the journalism school you are interested in. Walter Cronkite graduated from University of Missouri at Columbia, for example. I think it would be very hard to write 'how it all works' unless I was one. Hope this helps some. you could become a wedding photographer, or start your own family photography business tons of people want photos of their families, weddings, birthdays etc. It is almost always with mass media. Here is a link for you to check out. http://www.bsu.edu/journalism/photojourn... Peace and blessings! You could photgragh weddings, animals, birthday parties, lots of stuff. You could also start your own buisness, or join a larger phtograping company. Hi I found this on Wikipedia and thought you might be interested: Commercial photography: Advertising photography: photographs made to illustrate and usually sell a service or product. These images are generally done with an advertising agency, design firm or with an in-house corporate design team. Fashion and glamour photography: This type of photography usually incorporates models. Fashion photography emphasizes the clothes or product, glamour emphasizes the model. Glamour photography is popular in advertising and in men's magazines. Models in glamour photography may be nude, but this is not always the case. Still life photography usually depicts inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural or man-made. Editorial photography: photographs made to illustrate a story or idea within the context of a magazine. These are usually assigned by the magazine. Photojournalism: this can be considered a subset of editorial photography. Photographs made in this context are accepted as a documentation of a news story. Portrait and wedding photography: photographs made and sold directly to the end user of the images. Fine art photography: photographs made to fulfill a vision, and reproduced to be sold directly to the customer. Landscape photography: photographs of different locations made to be sold to tourists as postcards wikipedia.org -wedding photography -family photography -studio photography (portraits) -fashion photography (modeling) -media photography (newspaper, magazine) -botique photography (pictures to sell in botiques or coffee shops, etc.) Hope I helped! |
