How much should one spend on photography & videography for their wedding? |
Usually these two comes as a package. What percentage of the wedding budget should be for this? the one thing I wouldn't skimp on is photography. the photos should last forever. you should get a package that includes and engagement session and ownership of the digital negatives. it really depends on your location. in s.california you can expect to pay $3,000-$5,000 for great photos. in other areas it may be less. really do the research. view their site and ask to see sample albums from previous weddings. also- meet them before hiring. they need to be the right match for you. good luck! www.boutwellstudio.com www.thebecker.com (these are some great sites you can use to compare) :D I paid about 4000 for my photographer, but he was well worth it. It was a husband and wife duo (two photographers for the price of one) and he handed over ownership of all the photo's after the wedding. Then my video guy was about 1000 I think that you should go to www.brides.com. On this website they allow you to input your budget and they will automatically calculate what you should spend on every aspect of your wedding. Bridal Consultant I paid 3300 for mine. I used Jim Kennedy (in Southern Cal). "The Becker" which I saw mentioned starts at 10000 now. There's ways you could get it cheaper. My wedding video was 500 I think. Make sure you ask the photographer if you can have, or buy the digital files. It will save you A LOT of money For my wedding, I went with a single photographer who did great work. I am in Indiana, and my photographer is from Chicago, and they had some good deals on combo packages. The one they had available was both the video and photos. I wound up choosing a photo package that cost me $800, and that included unlimited photos, my wedding album, and he also stayed with us all day. Like I said, he was great. BTW, congratulations!!
