Where was your wedding? Was it Your Dream Wedding? |
I'm just curious because I'm in the business (I'm not married) and I've seen people get married in churches, on the beach, and even at a Zoo! Where was your wedding? or where do you want your wedding to be? did you have your dream wedding? -----www.Weekend Wedding Photography dot com Our wedding was held in a redwood grove. It was precisely my dream location. I was seven the first time I attended a wedding that wasn't held in a church. It was 1970 and the couple were very back-to-the-earth types. They held it in a redwood grove. I looked around myself and decided that when I got married someday, this was just how I wanted to do it. When my brother and his wife were planning their wedding, I went with them to look at a site that had been recommended to them. It was a redwood grove. There was a small amphitheater in a low hillside and an easy path down to an area with picnic tables and a small dance floor. There were redwoods all around. It was gorgeous. I turned to my brother and said: "I don't know about you, but I'm getting married here!" Seven years later, I did just that. And yes, in addition to it being my dream location, it did turn out to be my dream wedding. We got married on the beach with only our closest family members there.. Oh.. and the 300 strangers who cheered for us when we were pronounced man and wife! It was PERFECT!!! backyard bbq I had mine at a historic home with a beautiful ballroom and a gazebo outside where we had our ceremony. I would have done more if I had a bigger budget, but I was very satisfied with the way it all came together. If I was given the chance to do it over again with a bigger budget I would. :) We got married in the beautiful gardens of an old Victorian mansion and then had the reception right there in a hall that was attached to the main house. It was an absolute dream! My husband and I were married in his Greek Orthodox church and had the reception in the hall right next door. It was wonderful! We really took the time to plan out every detail and it worked out great. It was definitely our dream wedding. At a winery. It exceeded our expectations. |
