Wedding Photography is a hard job to do. How come most people don't know that? |
One has so many pictures to do and so little time to do it. I would love to be a photographer, but I'd never want to do wedding photography.Its a massive responsibility. Everything has to be perfect because its the couples one special day. If you mess up, there is no going back to fix it. If situations come up, you have to think fast to fix them! stained dresses, crying children, rain, fighting family that wont go in the pictures,lighting, time schedule,nobody is paying attention to you,your camera breaks, distractions, rush rush rush! I would never want to be a wedding photographer! I want to take landscape photography, and pictures of random objects, sort of abstract...no worries. Although I know that's not where the money is at! I don't know about how hard it is, but I sure know how expensive it is. They totally rip you Off! Ignorance of the craft, and indifference, maybe It's only hard when people start doing it. Once they have done lots of weddings, you just chill out, you know when you take certain photos, you just get used to it and it's easy. And then you get free food at the reception. :) I know two different wedding photographers. You just don't have a clue how tough it is to have your expensive equipment, deal with the whims of the bride and her mother, photograph the swirling chaos of a wedding reception, take umpteen posed shots of the wedding party in a fifteen minute period, meet ahead of time to plan matters. Then you go back to the studios, develop the negatives or load the files into the computer, cull the selects, color correct, etc. etc. etc. etc. Non-photographers just don't know what is involved. They think it's a matter of snapping photos. cause they havent been in the photographers shoes, people are like that, they think something is one way but when its time to do things they realize how it really is. It is hard because it is a "once in a lifetime event" that likely is the high point of the married couple lives. You can't do it over. Most people think that any particular job is easier than what it is, in my opinion. |
